Highland Woods

The Tiverton Land Trust purchased 16 acres from the family of the late Virginia Clark, a longtime Tiverton resident. The property is adjacent to the Fort Barton Redoubt and Fort Barton Woods, affords additional open space to the area, and enhances Tiverton's historical legacy. The majority of the eastern part of the property is coastal oak-holly forest, which exists in only four states, and most of the property is within the Sin and Flesh Brook Rare Species Habitat Area.

Funding partners: R.I. Department of Environmental Management, Newport County Fund of the Rhode Island Foundation, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Tiverton Open Space Commission.
